Advising and Planning Programs
Higher Education Veterans Program The Minnesota Legislature passed a number of initiatives addressing the unique and often complex needs of students who are veterans. To assist Minnesota’s colleges and universities fulfill these new requirements, the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs established the Higher Education Veterans Programs. This program consists of a director, an administrative assistant and 12 Regional Coordinators located throughout the state. Specifically, the coordinators work with colleges to enhance or develop:
More Info: Website or call 800-456-8519 Goals, Plans and Success LifePlan, commonly known as GPS LifePlan, is a holistic program designed to help students plan for their futures. The program focuses on five areas of development: career, education, finance, leadership and personal. In each area, students are encouraged to assess their needs, set goals and create plans to move them in the direction of achieving their goals. The GPS LifePlan provides a framework/structure to help student's approach to goal setting and connects them to resources that can help them achieve those goals. The MnSCU system is the largest single provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota.
