Employer Outreach

Patriot Award Presentations

  • A great way to inform employers about USERRA and the military is to give them an award and tell them in person why their support is appreciated.

Awards Banquet

  • The annual ESGR Awards Banquet not only provides a chance to recognize truly outstanding support, but for employers to hear the stories of other supportive employers, and share best practices.

Bosslift/Breakfast with the Boss Program

  • 4.28.09-Bosslift-Pic1What better way to get your boss to understand what military duty is like than to take him or her to a training day?
  • ESGR hosts Employer Outreach events with all seven Reserve Component services.
  • An event may be:
    • Breakfast with your boss, along with briefings from your leadership and a tour of your facilities, or
    • A ride in one or more air assets, such as planes or helicopters, if available, or
    • Demonstration of actual training events, to include the opportunity for your boss to try some training equipment, and find out just how heavy it is!

Military Outreach

Briefings

  • ESGR volunteers are always available to speak and answer questions about ESGR and USERRA at military training events.
  • Most Guard and Reserve facilities have an ESGR Military Liaison assigned to them. Contact the Minnesota ESGR Committee at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  to find out what they can do for your unit.

Reintegration Events

  • Minnesota's Beyond the Yellow Ribbon program provides many resources to bring troops "all the way home." ESGR attends all pre- and post-deployment events to answer questions and offer information to Servicemembers and their families.

Ombudsmen

  • Ombudsmen not only help resolve conflicts between Servicemembers and their employers - they also help educate one-on-one to prevent future problems that arise through lack of understanding.
