YOUTH_SpeakOut_4001SOMK is an Operation Military Kids Program in partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension,

4-H, American Legion, MN Department of Education, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Army Reserve, National Guard and Youth. SOMK is a youth-lead program designed to raise awareness of issues facing military families through simulations, interviews, speeches, artwork and other forms of expression. Members of SOMK are military youth and non-military friends who want to support military families. Presentations are done at schools, civic organizations, faith-based groups and various other places to build public awareness about issues facing military families during mobilization and deployment.
